    Cardiopulmonary Department

    The Cardiopulmonary Department is open 24/7. Staff can be contacted at (909) 581-6400 during the day or after hours. The lead respiratory therapist is available day and night and can be reached by overhead page. The department provides cardiopulmonary services such as:

    • Ventilator management
    • Oxygen therapy
    • BiPAP
    • Aerosol therapy
    • Chest physio therapy
    • Arterial blood gases
    • Intubation
    • CPR
    • Oral care
    • Hand held nebulizer treatments
    • Rapid response
    • Pulmonary screens
    • Center for wound management

    Kindred Hospital Rancho has a progressive wound care team comprised of RNs and LVNs. Patients are seen daily by our wound care team and work very closely with the clinical staff. Services provided are surgical debridements, wound vac placements, and daily treatments. We also have an outpatient Limb Salvage Clinic that provides service one day per week currently.

    Dietary Services

    Rancho has a Registered Dietitian and an Executive Chef. The Registered Dietitian works closely with the clinical staff in meeting our patient’s nutritional needs.

    Laboratory

    The Clinical Laboratory at Kindred Hospital Rancho provides testing in the following clinical laboratory areas:

    1. Hematology / Coagulation

    2. Clinical Chemistry

    3. Immuno-Serology

    4. Immunohematology

    5. Special Chemistry

    6. Urinalysis

    7. Clinical Microbiology

    The Laboratory is directed by a Pathologist with board certifications in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology. Testing personnel are all Clinical Laboratory Scientists, licensed by the State of California, and/or certified by the American Association of Clinical Pathologists.

    A wide range of laboratory testing is available on-site to meet the specific needs of our patients and physicians. These tests provide diagnostic information to assist the medical staff in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients with a high level of care.

    The Laboratory is an integral part of the hospital organization, participating in Infection Control and Quality Assessment/Improvement activities of the hospital.

    Laboratory services are available for in-patients on a 24/7 basis as a primary focus. Outpatient services are also available for those pre-operative patients and outpatients referred to Kindred Hospital Rancho for laboratory testing. These services are provided between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

    Nursing Department

    The Nursing Service Department is responsible for providing the patient and their families’ care that requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, social, psychosocial and nursing process.

    The practice at the hospital is based on the nursing process, professional practice models, and recognized standards of care and is consistent with all-applicable state and regulatory laws.

    Patient care is provided by Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN), Licensed Practical Technician (LPT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and other nursing support employees.

    Patient care is accomplished through the execution of the nursing process, education for patient and family, fair and equitable management, quality improvement, and ongoing implementation and revision of nursing standards.
